SYNOPSIS
In this touching documentary, filmmaker Chelo Alvarez-Stehle embarks on a transformative journey after the passing of her beloved companion Mark.
Drawn to the metaphor of a golden carp's transformation that she witnessed during a meditative creek-side stroll, and inspired by Mark's poignant tale in his final moments on the meaning of Carpe Diem, 'The Carp' delves into the journey of grief, caregiving, and self-discovery.
The film challenges us to find the essence of our own transition as it explores love, loss, and the beauty found when we embrace each moment, even—and especially—the last.
PROJECT STATUS
We are wrapping up production and are working on our first teaser.
We need your help to get us into post-production (editing, animation, color correction, sound mixing, original music) and to prepare assets for distribution and outreach.
We are also strategizing the film's impact campaign as we want to ensure it touches audiences in every continent—grief being inevitable as is facing our own death.

SINOPSIS
En este conmovedor documental, la cineasta Chelo Alvarez-Stehle se embarca en un viaje transformador tras el fallecimiento de su querido compañero de vida Mark.
Atraída por la metáfora de la transformación de una carpa dorada, de la que fue testigo durante un paseo meditativo junto a un arroyo, e inspirada por el emotivo relato de Mark en sus últimos momentos sobre el significado de carpe diem, "La carpa" se adentra en la trayectoria de los cuidadores, los que sufren el duelo, y el profundo descubrimiento personal.

Estamos terminando la producción y trabajando en nuestro primer teaser.

También estamos elaborando una estrategia para la campaña de impacto de la película, ya que queremos asegurarnos de que llegue al público de todos los continentes: el dolor es inevitable, como lo es enfrentarse a nuestra propia muerte.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Depends on a few factors like if you received a reward in exchange for the donation and the value of your donation above that rewards cost, etc. You may contact the nonprofit you donated to directly to receive information on whether or not your donation is tax deductible. Nonetheless, the emailed receipts you will receive for your donation is the documentation you need to make it tax deductible.

Yes, the security and confidentiality of your information is our highest priority. We will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations, and we will only share personal information if you have given us specific permission to do so.
How do I know that my donation was made successfully?
You will receive an emailed receipt immediately after your donation is submitted and your credit card is processed. Your donation will also show up on your bank or card statement within 1-3 business days.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes, a receipt is sent to your email inbox once your donation is processed. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipt for tax purposes. If you select a recurring donation, you will be sent an individual receipt each period when your donation is processed.
